Well, not really crazy. Not in the TRUEST sense of the word. However, “What was I thinking?” does come to mind. Are you wondering what I am talking about? I am talking about the third trimester of pregnancy. In a word…nesting. I don’t mean, scrubbing the floor a bit more or cleaning the bathrooms a little more frequently nesting. I mean MAJOR NESTING!!
For example, this week I have embarked upon the following tasks simultaneously:
- Re-organizing and storing children’s clothes from age newborn through size 8. This includes clothing for 6 children in ALL 4 seasons.
- Re-organizing our school supply and book storage.
- Finishing the baby nursery preparations and organization. This in a room that the baby will not even sleep in for at least three months after his birth.
And it is only Tuesday! I do tend to have an all or nothing type of personality, and I do tend to do things “big”, but this is unusual even for me. Every time I see a storage container of some kind in a store, or on-line, I am automatically drawn to it. Now isn’t that sick? I wonder what has gotten me so organization oriented this time around. I have nested with my other 5 pregnancies to varying degrees but nothing like this before! Any ideas? Anybody else like this?
I guess I better go and tackle some of the tasks on my list. I don’t want to waste any time after all! Hmmm…you know, there is a lot that could be done in the bedroom where my older children sleep too. I wonder how much of that we could get done?
So, if you miss me, you know where I am, and what I am doing.
I am out of control, plain and simple.
well, I am trying to come out of the first trimester blah so pass some of that energy this way and help us both out! *grin*
At least those hormones are helping you get stuff done! I found your blog by a comment you left on another blog. It’s always nice to “meet” other homeschooling Christian moms!

Ha, ha! I *KNOW* exactly what you are talking about!! I am 34 weeks preggers and oh my have I been bit by the nesting bug. I made up a list ( a very long list I might add) of “spring cleaning” jobs I wanted accomplished before the baby comes. Daily life kept getting in the way to me tackling that list. That was until the bug bit! My poor hubby doesn’t know what to do with me. He’ll come in and ask, “Do you really need to be doing that now?” I’m up on a step stool dismantaling the light fixture to clean it…..and I reply, “Yes! Of course I do, how can dinner get made with these light fixtures a mess?” I am sure he will be laughing about it someday
It seems to me that the bug bites harder with each baby. A scary thought to be sure….at least for my hubby!
Have fun tackling those tasks…and no I don’t think you are crazy about staring at storage containers, I find myself doing the same thing. I think the reason being with the first couple of children I just needed the house to be clean. But now with 5 children in the house already, my house not only needs cleaning but a new level of organization to boot. After all with two children I didn’t have all this homeschool stuff, or books, or a gizzilion pieces of clothing to attend to. So there you have it, not exactly a scientific reason.

Ha! Well, if you run out of things to do at your place, come on over to Texas! I am so not nesting yet! I keep walking by the (room that will be the) nursery and *thinking* about the projects I want to do…. Hubby keeps wondering when I will get bitten and start the project/organizing flurry!
